2:00 p.m.

We came, we saw, we sauced. Here’s the recap of our legendary BBQ day!

Hi Redeemed Family,

If your car still smells faintly of hickory smoke and your kitchen counter has BBQ sauce on it—congratulations, you were part of something legendary.

Our recent BBQ plate sale wasn’t just a meal; it was a massive win for The Forgotten Step. We are thrilled to announce that together, we raised right at $5,000 to support the ongoing restoration and discipleship of the men at Redeemed Living!

But while the money is a huge blessing, the real "secret ingredient" was the increased community awareness and involvement. Seeing you show up to support the long-term journey of recovery is what makes this mission move forward.

🏆 The 2026 "Unofficial" BBQ Awards

Before the smoke fully clears, we have some very important (and highly prestigious) awards to hand out:

  • The "Legendary Supporting Actor" Award: Goes to the Texas Roadhouse Rolls. We’re pretty sure some people bought the plate just for the roll and considered the BBQ a "bonus."

  • The "Nose for Ministry" Award: To the entire city of Valdosta. The aroma of those Boston butts reportedly traveled through three zip codes, acting as a homing beacon for hungry supporters.

  • The "Fastest Pickup in the West" Award: To the person who was idling in the driveway at 10:59 AM. We admire your punctuality and your hunger.

  • The "Sauce-Proof Hero" Award: To our Redeemed Volunteers. From setup and teardown to the high-pressure world of "plating and delivery," you guys handled the sauce-related pressure like absolute pros.

A Legendary Thank You to Our Partners

This event wouldn't have happened without some incredible local heroes who did the heavy lifting:

  • Crosspoint Grill Team: You guys are the MVPs of the flame. Thank you for grilling every single one of those Boston butts so we didn't have to!

  • Agape Grill: Thank you for providing and baking those legendary baked beans. A BBQ plate without your beans is just a sad pile of meat.

  • The Outdoor Living Team: A massive shout-out to the team at 1420 Gornto Rd. We essentially "invaded" your space, took over your driveway, and disrupted your peace for two days. Thank you for your incredible patience and for letting us turn our place into BBQ Central!

Why It Matters: The Forgotten Step

At the end of the day, this wasn't just about $5,000 or great rolls. It was about The Forgotten Step.

Most people see the "first step" of recovery, but you are helping us fund the ongoing step—the Bible studies, the one-on-one discipleship, the accountability, and the community that ensures these men don't just start well, but finish well.

Thank you for being more than just donors; thank you for being partners in restoration.

Gratefully,

Brent
